Balmont is available at stud on a limited basis to Maine Coon queens registered with breeding rights, with documented, breed-relevant health testing and up-to-date core vaccinations.
Before a visit is arranged, we review the queen’s pedigree, calculated coefficient of inbreeding (COI), blood group, health results, temperament and conformation to consider how the proposed combination may work.
A visit is confirmed only after both owners have discussed the pairing and the written stud agreement has been completed.
Copies of Balmont’s pedigree, registration and relevant health-test results are provided before the stud agreement is signed.

STUD SERVICE
FEES & ARRANGEMENTS
STUD FEE · £550
The fee, timing and principal responsibilities are set out below so that everything is clear before an enquiry is submitted.
BOOKING PAYMENT
Once the pairing has been agreed and the written agreement completed, a £100 booking payment secures the agreed visit and forms part of the £550 stud fee. The remaining £450 is payable no later than the queen’s arrival. If Tycoon Manor is unable to provide the agreed service, the booking payment will be returned in full. Cancellation terms for the queen’s owner are set out clearly in the written agreement.
STAY
The stud fee includes a stay of up to four nights. Additional nights may be agreed when considered necessary and are charged at £20 per night.
REPEAT SERVICE
If the queen does not conceive, one complimentary repeat mating with the same queen is offered within six months, subject to the terms of the stud agreement.
WRITTEN AGREEMENT
The written agreement records the pairing, fee, visiting arrangements, repeat-service conditions, emergency veterinary authority and the responsibilities of both owners. For a GCCF registered mating, a completed GCCF Certificate of Mating is supplied when the queen is collected.
Please note: The £550 stud fee covers the agreed mating and a stay of up to four nights. Travel, veterinary fees, additional testing and any other costs relating to the visiting queen remain the responsibility of her owner.
VISITING QUEENS
REQUIREMENTS
To protect Balmont, the visiting queen and every cat within the Tycoon Manor home, the following records must be reviewed before a visit can be arranged.
REGISTRATION FOR BREEDING
The queen must be registered with breeding rights with GCCF, TICA or another recognised registry. A copy of her current registration certificate is required.
BLOOD GROUP
A laboratory-confirmed blood group result is required so that compatibility with Balmont can be assessed.
FULL PEDIGREE
A complete pedigree is required so that the bloodlines, relationship between the cats and calculated coefficient of inbreeding can be reviewed.
BREEDING HISTORY
The queen must be at least 12 months old, in sound breeding condition and fully recovered from any previous litter. We follow GCCF guidance of at least 26 weeks between litters and no more than three litters within 24 months, while also considering her individual recovery and veterinary history.
DNA AND HEALTH RESULTS
Copies of all relevant breed-specific DNA and other health-screening results must be provided.
CURRENT VACCINATIONS
The queen’s core vaccinations must be up to date and supported by a current veterinary certificate.
FIV AND FeLV STATUS
A veterinary certificate confirming negative FIV and FeLV results within the previous 12 months is required. The queen must not have had contact with an untested cat after the sample was taken.
GENERAL HEALTH
The queen must arrive in good health and show no signs of infectious illness, fleas, worms or other internal or external parasites. If her health changes before the visit, her owner must contact us before travelling.
These requirements protect all cats involved and allow both owners to discuss the proposed mating with the relevant information in front of them.
DURING HER STAY
CARE & MONITORING
Visiting queens are accommodated in secure, private quarters away from the household cats, with introductions to Balmont made gradually and monitored closely. Their comfort, appetite and general wellbeing are monitored throughout the visit, and owners receive updates during their stay.
Owners are asked to provide enough of the queen’s usual food for the agreed visit, avoiding an unnecessary dietary change. If veterinary attention becomes necessary, the owner will be contacted promptly wherever possible; emergency authority and responsibility for costs are governed by the written stud agreement.
STUD ENQUIRIES
PROPOSING A PAIRING
If you would like to discuss a possible pairing with Balmont, please send the queen’s registered details, pedigree, blood group and available health results. We are happy to answer initial questions before the full supporting records are submitted.
Once the records have been reviewed, we will contact you to discuss the proposed combination and possible dates. A booking is made only when both owners are satisfied with the arrangement and the written stud agreement has been completed.
